What You Need

To prepare your simple hot sauce, you are going to need the following ingredients:

10–12 fresh chili peppers, like jalapeños, habaneros, or serranos

2 cloves garlic, minced

½ cup vinegar (white or apple cider)

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

½ cup water

Steps

1. Prepare the Peppers

Rinse the chili peppers and remove the stems. If you prefer a milder sauce, you can take out the seeds and membranes.

2. Sauté the Ingredients

In a pan over medium heat, sauté the garlic and chili peppers for a few minutes until they soften. This will release their flavors.
